Agency Workshops

How to bring "WoW" to your inbound agency

By Clodagh S. Higgins - May 4, 2017

I know, I know sounds super American, right? Although after I attended Marcus Sheridan's "Workshop on Workshops" I can assure you a lot of wow's were heard in the room.

I have been lucky enough to attend WoW–a workshop on how to do workshops for agencies–three times now, in three different cities, and it's been a new and enriching learning experience every time.

That is one of Marcus's secrets that he will happily share with you in the room. Even thought the content is the same, the workshop will be different every time. He shares even more of his secrets when you're part of a workshop day. Last week the team and agency members of the Growit Circle went to the offices of Katalysator in Aarhus, Denmark, to attend Marcus’s workshop.

His carefully crafted workshop is an explosion of strategies and plans he has implemented over nine years of work as a sales consultant, an inbound agency owner, and a keynote speaker. If you don't know who Marcus Sheridan is, he's basically Inbound royalty (well... to me, anyway).

He started as the "pool guy". He implemented inbound sales and marketing strategies into his struggling swimming pool business in 2008 obtaining enormous results. After that, he set up his own HubSpot Partner Inbound Agency called The Sales Lion. You can read more about him and his agency here.

Marcus could simply stay in Virginia with his family, and live off the earnings from his two profitable businesses. Instead, he selfishly travels the world to help other Inbound Agencies grow by sharing his tactics, knowledge, and contagious energy.

Would you like some WoW in your agency?

I'm not trying to dramatise the sense of urgency here, but if you or your agency are experiencing any of the following five challenges, you need to sign up for the next WoW event IMMEDIATELY:

  • You are losing clients because they cannot see the value in what you're doing.
  • You have not set up a paid workshop to qualify prospects - you are always doing free pitches.
  • The Sales and Leardership teams are not getting buy-in when working with a new client.
  • You feel you're not good enough or ready to deliver a workshop.
  • You don't kick-off a new client retainer in person; you send them emails or do it on the phone instead.

Does any of the previous scenarios sound too familiar?

What does the workshop agenda look like?

In his Workshop about Workshops you will learn new techniques to become a stronger communicator both online and in person. You will also learn about:

  • ZMOT: the Zero Moment Of Truth and how to facilitate this powerful tool in a client workshop.
  • How to define exactly what a great website is.
  • Having an open conversation about fears with your prospect or client.
  • Why your prospect or client is not the exception and they'll never be.
  • How to explain exactly what Google does.
  • Asking questions to get results.
  • Pulling the ostrich's head out of the sand.
  • Addressing concerns before they escalate.

What are WoW's benefits?

You will get the opportunity to network with other agency owners, build new connections, and strengthen existing ones. Since you will be meeting people with similar challenges, you'll also have the opportunity to discuss and share your experience, and learn new questioning techniques that will transform your professional and personal relationships. Other benefits include:

  • Increasing your cashflow. By adding highly profitable workshop packages to your service offering, you can add additional revenue to your bottom line.
  • Brushing up on your own knowledge. We, as agency owners, get comfortable talking about inbound marketing internally and with our clients, I know this is something I am guilty of –I think EVERYBODY knows about Inbound Marketing. We forget that there's still a whole world of people out there who don't know even the simplest basics like "how does Google work" –yes, really. By holding workshops you get to sharpen your presentation skills and answer questions from those who just started their inbound marketing and sales journey.
  • Boosting your own confidence and increasing your energy. It just happens! Being in the room with Marcus and other agency owners will give you that extra boost you didn't know you were missing.

Still not convinced? You don’t have to take my word for it. Check out other's testimonials over the years about Marcus and his workshops. Or just do yourself, your agency, and the people in your life a huge favour:
